Welcome to the Amberly Lago show. Stories of true grit and grace. Welcome to the Amberly Lago show. I am so excited to bring a special guest to you today. If you are like believe in woo woo or you know, I think energy is everything and everything is energy, then you are definitely going to want to tune into the show today. And we were talking right before we started recording and she's actually going to do like a breath work exercise with us to start us off. I've got Christina Dearing with us and she's going to do like a breath work exercise to get us grounded and get us ready for just tuning into all that you have to share all the wisdom that you have to share. And so, yeah, let's do it. Take the floor. I'm ready to do this. Let's get grounded.
Yes. Okay. So just placing both of your feet on the ground. Just closing your eyes, just allowing yourself to just drop down into your body. Take a big, deep inhale through your nose all the way down to the soles of your feet. Just grounding into the present moment. Deep exhale, just releasing the future, releasing the past. Just allowing every exhale to drop you into this present moment. Another big, deep inhale through the nose all the way down to the soles of your feet. Again, just grounding into this present moment. And a deep exhale out of the mouth, just releasing any anxiety, any worries, any overwhelm, anything that's keeping you out of the present moment. Just setting that intention to release that with your exhale. And then one more big, deep inhale, opening up all the cells of your body, allowing yourself to bring in peace and calm into all of the cells of your body, down to all the way down to your feet. And then deep exhale once more, releasing anything that's out of alignment with calm. And then slowly just beginning to move your fingers and toes. Slowly beginning to flutter your eyes open as you drop back into the here and now.
I love that.
Yeah, me too.
It's very calming.
It is.
Yes, it is very calming. And I'm almost like, oh, there's a couch over there. I kind of want to lay down and take a nap.

I noticed before we started recording you doing this with your hands.
Yes.
What is that? What are you doing?
It's an anchor for me. I just. When I've had deep states of joy or deep states of bliss, I will start to rub my fingers like this. So I remember that feeling I saw you doing.
That I noticed it. I saw you doing that. We started recording it. Is that because you're just so joyous to be on the Amberly Lago show?
Yes, that is exactly why. And it just drops you into that peace and calm, you know, like, when you're in that bliss, you're like, oh, I want to remember this. I want to take this feeling with me always. That's what that does, is it just drops you back into it from a body perspective, and then your mind catches up.
Yeah.
Which is wonderful. Yeah.
I love what you do. And, you know, I met you at a conference, and I was kind of at this conference, and I actually, to be honest with you, I wasn't feeling very well at that conference. Actually, our friend Brian is sitting in the audience here at the show, and he was at the conference, too, and at Rene Rodriguez's conference, and I was not feeling that great. And I remember being at the water cooler, and you walked up, and when you walked up, I was like, oh, this is why I'm here.
Yes.
Because we met, and I was like, oh. And I think I had a butterfly suit on.
It was gorgeous.
And you started talking to me, and I thought, oh, this is why I'm here. I'm here, like, to meet you. And we made a connection. And ever since then, we've had coffee, we've gone for a walk, We've like. I'm like, finally get you on my show. But there's a lot of people in the audience that are like, what's a shaman? Like, how did you become. You went from being a sorority girl, like, in college, to a shaman? And a lot of people are just like, okay, that's a little.
To woo.
Woo for me. What exactly do you do?
Yeah, so a shaman is essentially. And there are many different types of shamans, but for me, it's about tapping into your deepest expression of self. It's about tapping into your soul. It's about me helping. Like, so, for instance, with my clients that I support, it's a lot about how can I support them to tap into their highest version of self? Because we get really confused when we're like, well, my ego's telling me to do this. Like, I feel like I should do this. My parents told me I should do this. My friends, society. And then there's that higher version of self that's like. But this one brings me so much joy.
Yeah.
And so it's about just almost like, giving people permission to follow what feels good and helping them tap into what that feels like in Their body. So that's a big part of shamanism is about what does the energy feel like when you're actually tapped into your highest self?
Well, how do you tap into that highest self? How do you do that?
It kind of depends. So a lot of it, one, you got to ground and kind of feel what it feels like to be in your body. Because I feel like so often we're kind of like just like up in the clouds or we're just kind of like not really present. We're doing 50 things at once. If we can drop into the present moment and kind of feel into like, what does my body feel like when someone gives me an option? Does it feel expansive in my body or does it feel constricting in my body? And that's a big one for me. Like, if I walk into a room and you'll know the sensation, you'll walk into the room and you'll immediately be like, ooh, I. This doesn't feel right. Like, this room doesn't feel like I should be here. Like, maybe I'm in the wrong part of town. Like, I don't know. So you walk in and you feel that and your body kind of starts to close in on itself. That's your body telling you it's not for you. Right. Our energy is connecting to something. But there's also times where you meet someone at a water cooler, right? And you walk up and you're like, oh my God, a breath of fresh air. I feel expanded when I'm talking to her. There's something about her energy that's pulling me in, it's magnetizing me. So that's you kind of using your body to say, ooh, that's for me, there's something here that's energetically resonating with me. Does that make sense?
Oh, yeah. And that's why when we started, I was like, energy is everything. Because I feel like you really do feel that energy when you're around people. And you feel it through the phone, through social media, Absolutely through everything. You feel that energy. But talking about tapping into your joy, when there's somebody that has so many things on their to do list, they're like never ending. It's just non stop. How do they pause and take that time to tap into their joy?
Yes. So this is huge because so many of us are just running and we're not pausing to reflect on am I running the right marathon? Like, am I running in the right direction? Am I in my soul aligned path? And so a huge part of that Is we're kind of taught to just do all the things, go, go, go, go, go. And then you get to the destination and you're like, why do I feel so empty? It's because you were running someone else's race. You were running what your parents told you you should do. Become this, do that, make money doing this. Versus when we take those moments to pause, whether it's like doing that breathing exercise that I just did or a meditation and just kind of like, even, like, letting yourself, like, channel receive messages from your highest self, that's going to allow you to say, like, okay, what is my next greatest adventure that I need to actually tap into? Because I think sometimes we get, like, really, like, we're just running, running, running and doing all the things, but if we can pause and say that to do isn't even real. I'm just kind of putting it on there to feel better about myself. Like, I don't actually have to do that. This one I definitely do need to do, but maybe it can happen tomorrow. This one feels so good. I want to do it right now because I'm in alignment with that now. Your energy is telling you where to focus. So that's a big thing is, like, we are meant to, yes, follow, but take inspired action. Not just action. That's how we get places faster.
Well, what would you say to the entrepreneur? Because entrepreneurs have a million things going on to maybe pause. I have a friend of mine, and she's got a pause tattoo, and she actually will press that pause tattoo on her arm to remind her to pause. And I think that's so important because I know for me, like, before I respond to certain emails, I need to pause. I need to pause and rethink it and do. What would you suggest to entrepreneurs who are like, they've got a million things going on and they've got a million shiny objects to stop and pause and remember what finds them joy.
Yeah. So it's about tapping back into your why am I doing this in the first place? For part of that, like, why am I even running and doing this thing in the first place? And when we get back into alignment, like, what is my deepest purpose for doing this? That will one give us the vitality to do some of the things that maybe we don't necessarily want to do what we know that we need to do it right. And then also setting your day up for success. Like, my morning routine is something that I got a little bit out of whack with when I had a child where I was like, oh, my gosh. Like, why do I feel like I'm reacting to things? But if we can ground first thing in the morning now, what do you
do first thing in the morning?
Yeah. So ritual. Yeah, I love this. So several things I do. One, that kind of quick breathing exercise that I did, that's one thing that I do. But I take it even further. It's just a five minute grounding and protecting my energy meditation. I actually want to gift that to anyone who's tuning in that desires to actually ground their energy so that they can.
And I love that it's five minutes.
It's five minutes. First of all, meant for five minutes.
People say, oh, I don't have time, I don't have time. So you are giving somebody five minutes to ground themselves. And where can they. I'll put this in the show notes, but where can they find that?
So when they click into the show notes, the thing that they're going to be walked through is it's going to ground them back into their body and it's going to allow them to protect their energy. So this is a really big one. So we're clearing our energy too, because we're constantly collecting energy from other people. Like someone's nervous and we kind of have it in our body suddenly. And then we're like, why am I feeling nervous? It's like, I'm not afraid to fly, but I come on an airplane and why am I afraid to fly all of a sudden? Well, you're tuning into other people's energy that might be scared to fly.
Yeah.
So this is going to clear your energy of everyone else's low vibrational energy, including yourself. We're going to clear that and then we're going to protect it too. So that in a beautiful way, anything that's being projected at us, we know that it's not ours. Right. We're suddenly aware of like, ooh, that person's like, very anxious. Okay, that's not mine, though. I'm sending them love and light, but I don't have to filter that through my body. And a lot of people who are empathetic will do that. They think we have to filter it through, but we don't have to do that. We can sense it. That's a superpower. But we don't have to filter it through the body and carry it as our own. So that's a really big one.
Well, that's what's hard. I mean, I've been around even family members that it's been so energetically draining yes. That I've actually had to go upstairs at my home and lay down for a little bit because that's how much it drained me.
Yes.
How do you protect yourself with that energy when you know you're going to be around people who are like, I call them energy vampires.
Yes. Do this exercise. So I'm gonna bring a white divine light all the way down through your body to cleanse and clear it. We're gonna send it all the way around your body so that it almost creates this protective bubble. And then we're gonna put a mirrored surface around you. So I'm just kind of guiding you through it. And what's cool about that is the mirrored surface is out. So you're just visualizing this. But what's nice is when someone's projecting their energy at you, it's actually gonna reflect back to them.
Oh, yeah.
So you're not taking it in anymore. So, one, you're protected. We're also gonna ground your energy into Mother Earth, which is going to be really important. So you're really grounded in the moment. And that allows you more easily to say, is that mine or is that not mine? Because you're grounded in your truth now. You're really rooted down into your truth.
Well, you talk a lot about, like, there's a book called the Body Keeps the Score.
Yes. Yeah, I know.
I've read parts of it. It's a very intense book. But how our bodies really, we do, we feel the energy. Even though we try to ignore things that happen or whatever, our body does keep the score. Can you talk a little bit about that and how to make sure that we process that so we can be forward and move forward and thrive.
Yes. So I truly. Based on everything that I've studied and just my truth, like my internal truth, the body is telling the story of the soul. So when I'm experiencing something like pain, or I'm experiencing something like a. Even ear, nose, and throat, I'm like, okay, what is my body communicating to me? That maybe I wasn't hearing the intuitive whisper, and now it's showing up in a way that I can't really ignore it anymore. So what is this trying to teach me? So Louise Hay has this really beautiful book, and it's Heal youl Body From A to Z. And it's a really good jumping off point for someone who might be like, okay, I've got, like, sinus infection happening. What is that? Probable cause and emotional cause for the physical ailments. Okay. So if it's. Let's Say it's a throat. I'm not speaking my truth. Where can I start to speak my truth?
Because my energy's dang. Crps, this complex regional pain syndrome, which I've tried every single kind of treatment you could ever imagine. And I'm trying a new treatment. And I just talked to my doctor today, and he's like, well, maybe you should try it right after your interviews, because it induces vomiting. And I'm like, yeah, okay, well, let's just see about that. What do you think about. I'm. I'm. This is selfish of me, but I love it.
Let's go. Permission to go woo woo. Am I allowed to go woo woo?
Go woo woo. I want you to go all. I'm all about the woo woo. So go woo woo.
Okay.
Kill me, girl.
Okay, let's do this. So I believe that it's not just what's happening consciously. I believe that it's things that are happening unconsciously, and I believe that it's things that are happening from past lives. So I don't know if you believe in past lives. So we're just going to go there for a minute. Okay. I love this. Okay. So so much of when I think therapy can only take us so far, in my mind, it's a beautiful step one, but you're only focusing on what you consciously are aware of. And if there's things that are happening in the unconscious, we need to clear and cleanse the energy across all time and space realities. So I think a lot of times doctors are treating symptoms, but we're not uprooting. Where is this energy even coming from? Is it from this lifetime? Is it this? And multiple lifetimes beyond. This is where people experience things, where they'll come into my sessions and they're like, I've been working on this for 40 years in therapy, and I don't even resonate with this anymore. I had a woman who actually came in. She was in a wheelchair. Her knee was bothering her so bad. And we went into her Akashic records, which I'm happy to share more about that.
Well, I have a good friend of mine who has started to do that with me.
Yes. Amazing.
And it was wild because she was like, oh, my goodness. You have lifetimes of people that have had this, that, and the other with pain.
Yes.
And it's. It's anchored to you, and I'm gonna release that. So I know. And people that are listening are probably gonna go, oh, man, Amberly's gone really well.
I thought that when I first you know, when I was first becoming aware of that stuff where I was like, what? That's so weird. And then my healer, similar story. My healer went in and I remember in this lifetime I, you know, was. Had a huge fear of oceans and lakes for no reason. Like absolutely no reason. Nothing happened in this lifetime that I should fear oceans and lakes. And for some reason it was like, I'm good being next to it, but when I fully submerge. Anxiety attack, right?
Very real.
Yes. So when my healer went into my akashic record, she was like, well, yeah, it's because you've died in the water like in like 10 lifetimes. We gotta clear it. And so the second she went into that healing session, she started to move that energy. I kid you not, I was just in Saint John last week, fully submerged in the water. Like, oh my gosh, it feels like it's purifying me. It feels so good to finally submerge myself in this water. Like I was actually like teary eyed because I felt so joyful that I could fully submerge myself for the first time in this lifetime and not fear death. Right? Like, because it made no sense. Like, why am I fearing this water? So for someone who might be like, huh? Like I was too, until I had that cleared and suddenly I was like, I feel so free. This gets to be my truth. Like, this gets to be my truth now because of the freedom that I'm deeply experiencing now.
Wow.
Yeah.
Yeah. Well, hey, look, I've got a list of questions that I've planned out to ask you, especially about entrepreneurship. But I've been so into like asking you about the Woo Woo shaman kind of stuff.
Yeah.
And. And what does your husband think about you being a shaman? Like, I'm just curious because I know my husband thinks that I'm. My nickname is Crazy. That's what he calls me because I'm like, oh, now. He's like, oh, now what are you doing? Now you're doing another event. What are you doing? So what does your husband think about you being a shaman?
So it's a beautiful question because he's like, you know what he's like if he introduced me, he's like, she's a life coach. And I'm like, yes. And I do things like soul retrievals and like reiki, you know, but like, I don't go that deep unless someone's like open to it, you know, but it's fine. Funny because he's like, I just love you and as long as you're happy I'm happy. He's like, I might not understand what you're doing, and I might think it's so weird and, like, laugh with you or potentially at you, but at the end of the day, like, as long as you're happy, I'm good with it. Literally, he's looking at me in the back in the backyard. I'm like, drumming. He's like, what? I'm like, I don't know what brings me joy. I think it's weird, too, but it just brings me joy. So it's one of those where I just follow what brings me joy. And he's like, you're so lit up, I can't question it.
That's awesome.
Yeah.
How do you tap into your joy?
You know, a big part of that was recognizing what I loved to do when I was a child. Like, I loved to sing.
I love that answer, by the way.
Yeah. Like, my dad was like, I could always tell when you weren't feeling well because you'd stop singing. And so he was like, the second you started singing again, I was like, there she is. She's back. You know, like, she's healing. She's good. So for me, singing is a big one. I just absolutely love to sing. So that's part of the. You know, the shamanic medicine that I bring into the healing is, like, there's a resonance to sound. And so depending on, like, I really let the guides, like, lead each session. I have no idea what's going to happen in my sessions, which is really fun. So sometimes they're like, bring out your drum and sing certain notes because it's going to raise their frequency to meet you at that. At that level, that vibration. And so I get to sing in my job now, which is amazing. I get to sing when I want to. You know.
You sing as part of your sessions?
Yes. I mean, it's just like, you know, part of, like, the notes and the things that come into their body.
I think we gotta hear you sing.
Oh, my gosh. That's a no.
Oh, come on.
Come on. Oh, my goodness. Okay, we're stretching today.
We are. Do you want to. Do you want to sing a little? How would you do that?
Wow. Okay. We're just going to do it.
Okay, let's do it.
I believe I can fly I believe I can touch the sky. I'm gonna stop there, but yes.
I love that. They gave me goosebumps.
Yay. Okay, so just a little bit. We'll give you a little teaser, and then we'll bring more into the space.
I know. And before we recorded, you know, our producer, amazing producer Jordan was like, don't touch the mic. And as soon as you started singing,
I'm like, oh, boom, boom, oh.
It hits my heart. Like, I love that. Yeah.
It comes straight from the soul.
But you work. Okay, we're almost out of time, but I wanted to say, like, I have a whole list of questions I haven't even gotten to. But you work with a lot of entrepreneurs, and you teach them how to be successful in a different way other than, like, a lot of entrepreneurs say, do this strategy. Do this strategy. Do this. And you're like, no, no, no. There's another way. If you want to be successful, this is what you need to do. Tell us how to do it.
Okay. Amazing. So you want to tap into the way that your soul desires to build. Because for me, I copied and pasted business strategies for so long where I was like, okay, my coach is making six, seven figures doing this. Like, I'll just do it the way she's doing it. And I would copy and paste it, and I'd make, like, $12, and I'd be like, what's happening? Like, why is this not working? So for me, what I had to do was start to really connect to my highest self again. So it's about kind of channeling, opening up, and protecting my lines of communication with my highest self. And just saying, like, where can I start to really build what is lighting me up the most? Because the thing that's lighting you up is quite literally telling you your soul's blueprint for what you came here specifically to build. We, as you know, entrepreneurs, did not come here to build cookie cutter versions of businesses. We came here to impact humanity in a way that is deeply in alignment with just our soul. And so the more that we can tap into what is my soul desire to create, you become the lighthouse, and the people that are meant to work with you can find you because you're fully beaming at your highest vibration. And your people are like, there she is. Okay, let me follow that.
Yeah.
People come out of the woodworks. They're like, oh, my God. Yes. Okay. Yes. There's a vibration to being in authenticity. It's one of the highest frequencies out there.
I think so too. And how do you, as an entrepreneur, how do you get to, like, really be settled and grounded into your authenticity and who you are?
You give yourself permission to do things like sing on camera. Like, you just did. Like, you just let me. Do you know what I mean? Where I'M like, okay, so you just kind of give yourself permission and you notice where your self imposed boundaries are. So that's actually one of my favorite things to do is like, I'll notice where I hit a wall.
I like when you were like, I'm gonna sing and that's it.
Yeah. And then you can come check me out later. That's it. I feel good.
There, there it is.
And that's it. Yeah, yeah. So it's this idea about like noticing where the wall is. And my favorite thing about that is you're reaching your next greatest breakthrough. When you hit the wall, you're hitting your next greatest breakthrough. You're not meant to unpack your bags there. You're meant to connect to amazing. This is a self imposed boundary that I meant to actually break through.
And then you need to unpack your bags and how do you move forward?
Yeah, so sometimes we do unpack our bags and then we notice, but I'm not having as much fun as I could be. Or you'll kind of start to notice. Like, I feel like I'm dimming a little bit. Like there's a part of me that wants to come further alive, that wants to push the envelope. And so a really big part of that is calming your nervous system when you're starting to pass the threshold of comfort. So for instance, like with pricing, like if you're starting to, you know, whatever it is that you're pricing for, let's say you're a coach and you're pricing something at X amount, like you've always priced it at $10,000. And you're like, there's a part of me that wants to expand into something a little bit more. You have to get your nervous system on board with, to push yourself beyond that. And the second that you are. People buy based on energy and if you're energetically in alignment with your price point, they're gonna purchase.
You're so right. And just recently I was invited to speak at an event and it was before my annual unstoppable success summit. And I was like, I had already told myself, I'm not traveling to speak anywhere before the success summit. I'm putting all my energy there. And I got an offer and I was like, you know what? I'm going to quote them double because I don't really want to go to Chicago.
Yes, exactly.
And so if they really want me to fly to Chicago before my event, this is it. And they said, yes, exactly, because that
was what you needed to energetically show up for that place and now you have a new threshold for pricing. I was like, oh my gosh.
They actually said yes. And so I guess I'm going to Chicago. Chicago, yes. And then that energetically for me was like, okay, well my partner was that point. Exactly.
Yes. And what's beautiful is you had no expectation behind it. You were like, you know, here's what
I didn't, I didn't have an expectation. I was like, if it happens, it does. If it doesn't, whatever, yeah, yeah.
And it required, and at that moment in time, it required more vitality to be able to show up. And that's what money is. It's the energy that allows you to fully show up. Energy, yeah, exactly.
Yeah, it's the energy. Well, how do you find your way to clarity and purpose? If there's somebody out that are there that is like, well, yeah, this all sounds good. I want to have the. I've got good energy. I got good. Woo. Woo.
Yeah.
I don't know exactly what my clarity and my purpose is. How would you suggest they find that purpose?
Amazing to move forward. Yeah. So I want to take away the fear around there needing to be one purpose for you in this lifetime. Our purpose evolves as we evolve. So follow the breadcrumbs of what lights you up and notice what doesn't light you up. So for instance, I was in corporate for 15 years and I'm like, for some reason every time I walk into this office, I feel frustrated. Every email I get, I just want to like punch in the face, you know, I'm just like, this is not my energy or my vibe.
Like you're like, I just want to punch.
Exactly. I know like drop kick my computer out the window. And I'm like, there's something. So noticing when you're not in alignment is a big cue to say like, let me start to shift a little bit and let me better understand what does feel good. So for me, what that actually looks like. I took online quizzes where I was like, I'm just going to answer a bunch of questions and I'm going to say like, what career would be in alignment with me?
So you took online quizzes?
Yes.
Yeah, I took suggest somebody take online quizzes to find out what they want to do.
It's a good jumping off point, you know, because I was able to as a generator by human design, I like to react to things. So when I have something that's put in front of me, it's easier for me to say, that's mine, that's not mine. That's mine. That's not mine. And so when I got like 10 different things about like, ooh, you would be an amazing minister. You would be amazing motivational speaker, you'd be amazing healer. And I remember reading some of these and being like, yes, and I'm nervous. But also it's a yes. So you might notice some things that you're like, that's terrifying. But I also really feel like that excites me. All you have to do is calm your nervous system to start to go after that thing and just start to take classes that are in alignment with that. Right. Like, for me, all the modalities that I use in my healing sessions, I just started to better understand myself and what lit me up by being like, I'm curious about Reiki. I just want to take it as a class. And then being like, ooh, that did something for me. Now I have all these new modalities just by following what lit me up.
Yeah, I love that.
Yeah.
Well, immediately when I met you, I was just like, it was just like, same magic. It was like, oh, my God, this is why I'm here to meet you. How can people best get in touch with you, find out more how to work with you so they get clarity and they can do a session with you and maybe get more grounded and maybe find their purpose and their passion and move forward? Because I know you help entrepreneurs really scale their business, and not in a way where it's like, oh, we're gonna scale your business with this strategy. We help them get more connected to their joy and to their inner spirit, their truth. So what's the best way? Tell us, first of all, how can they get that free gift?
